Ryan Donina: From Beaumont, TX to Belize

Ryan is an environmental science senior and member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity, who chose to study abroad in Belize because of its natural surroundings and for what he could learn from it as it relates to his love for the environment. He attended Monsignor Kelly Catholic High School before coming to Lamar University, where he says he has found appreciation for the small things in life.

Ryan Donina in BelizeRyan also is excited for having the opportunity to study abroad and actively engage with the people and their culture as he did in Belize. He states, “Belize is a beautiful country with people who have a love for what they have an appreciation for nature.”

After graduation, Ryan plans to continue his work in the environmental field working with pollutants from various anthropological sources. He believes his time in a different country and the chance to study their environment was critical to attaining his career goals and his future in environmental science.
